Rear crashbar is a very useful accessory on VT Shadow cruiser.
When i belonged to another bike club we went to a place with a Shadow team. When we arrived at a village there was a gravel road there and a bike slipped. I picked up the bike while my club mate consoled his wife.

Building my "double freedom" bike was stopped for a little while but a locksmith works on it when he's got time for this
