Some thoughts about the birth of VTX
The aggressive, in my opinion stag-beetle shaped motor was imagined with the block of the 1.8 V2, with full wheels in the back, with a central strug part under the cool single seat, with fish-tail exhaust-end, and what is the essence, it was imagined with a special trailing bottom-link suspension, front landing gear, which would have had the caliper on it’s front. It would not been produced with this new design or to be precise by and by it was revised but not on the Zodia, or on the serial produced VTX but they completed this new development on the 1800 cc boxer, six-cylinder Valkyrie Rune, which might be the most expensive, limited editioned custom top model, produced only in the USA.
(Subsequently there were some attempts to paste these anomalous technical implementations on a drag type model (VTX performance criser), but this interesting experiment was unique and it was not produced in serial.)
Why this implementation was not used on Zodia or on the VTX? We do not know the exact answer but the reason can be the high cost of it.
The VTX Honda become succes as like this ( it is even cultical in USA), and it gives good basement for those who like their bikes to rebuilt.
