The "suicide" shift lever

Perhaps the most striking bike build of our team to date: The Springbob done!
Springer fork, “suicide” shift lever, rigid frame, etc., without indicators, mirrors… Anything that contradicts a certain user-friendly, safe, comfortable motorcycling experience. But the whole picture became brutal.
The base bike was started by a skillful guy living in the countryside, but due to the materials and options available to him, there were certainly flaws in this bike, to put it very subtly. Then, in the meantime, the “American dream bike” rolled into his life, so the 600 Shadow “parked on the track” and dusted in a small garage for years.
In the meantime, we have also been hit by all the austerity inconveniences of the Covid epidemic, but we were able to make good progress in quarantine with the bike build. It took a lot of work and time to get rid of traces of basic remodeling and neglect and rebuild this orphaned machine into an old school chopper-bobber style driven by our own idea.
The antique look of the bike is accentuated by a matte brown-gold finish, harmonizing accessories such as old war cartridge cases and custom-made copper parts, a goatskin seat plate attached to a “hairpin spring”, and a custom-painted tank with the old Honda logo. The sawtooth-patterned tires, the bandaged mufflers, the lacquered wood shift lever, the lattice bobber lamp, and the lamp grille returning to the air filter have all been added to the bike for that old school effect.
Our team at Authentic Honda Shadow Handcraft does not intend to sell this masterpiece, we will keep it as a demonstration bike. It is a great pride for us that this will also be included in the September issue of Motorrevü magazine, now our fifth motorcycle, which will appear in the columns of the market-leading motorcycle magazine.
We present Springbob with the excellent photos of Péter Mosoni, I hope you like it too!
