Old days and olden times

1985 VT 750 of Benjy Szabó, my turner mate to my Green 1.1 from 1998.

The older model is the first of the 750 VT series commencing in 1983. The 45 degree V2 block with wedged crankshaft bearings has smoother running, and its performance is higher.

The 6-speed transmission, the safe slip clutch coupling, the wide range of equipment and the cast wheels give an experience of a tour motor compared to the vibrating run of the puritan 1100 classic cruiser.

The design of the frame and the wheel and so the position of the seat indicate an older VT soft chopper as well. But the liquid cooled V2 engine on both models delivers the driving and acoustic experience Shadows are famous for. It is interesting that the Shadow models have been simplified over the years and have become clearer in both the appearance and the technical solutions.

Only one thing is the same in all of them: the legendary reliability and it has not changed in the last decades either.

Cheers, A.Á.
